The UN Secretary-General emphasized that efforts must be made to stop the conflict in Sudan immediately. “The power struggle in Sudan is not only putting that country’s future at risk. It is lighting a fuse that could detonate across borders, causing immense suffering for years and setting development back by decades,” Guterres said on Tuesday. Earlier on Tuesday, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) paramilitary group was reported to have seized the building of the Oman embassy in Khartoum and stole a car belonging to the country’s diplomatic mission.
